Information you give us

If you join our list, we collect the email address you enter, your phone number if you choose to add one, and a record of the consent you gave: the wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed to it. That consent record is how we show that you asked to hear from us.

If you email us directly, we keep that message and your email address so we can reply.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or link that sent you here. We use Google Analytics and a website tracking script from our customer messaging platform to collect this. It helps us understand which songs, videos, and pages people actually care about. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes this data under Google’s privacy policy; you can opt out across all sites with Google’s browser add-on.

This site also embeds players and content from other companies, including Spotify and YouTube. When those load, those companies may set their own cookies and collect their own data about you under their own privacy policies. We do not control what they collect.

How we use your information

We use it to send you the updates you signed up for, to answer your messages, to keep the site working and secure, to understand how the site is used, and to comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information.

Email and text message updates

If you opt in, we send news about new music, releases, shows, and other things we are up to. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply to text messages, depending on your mobile plan.

You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. Reply HELP to any message for help, or email us. You can stop emails at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your text message consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the companies that run this operation for us, and only so they can do their job:

• our customer messaging and email/SMS platform, which stores your contact record and delivers our messages;
• our website host, which serves this site to your browser;
• Google Analytics, which measures how the site is used;
• the embedded services named above, when you load or play their content.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

How long we keep it

We keep your contact record for as long as you stay on our list, and for a reasonable period afterward so we can honor your opt-out and show the consent you originally gave. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails, reply STOP to texts, or email schmarxandsavvy@gmail.com to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; email us and we will honor requests we are able to verify.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Parts of the site may not work the same way if you do.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
